BMA Northern Ireland Council invites you to an all-member meeting on Wednesday 18 February 2026 at 7.15pm in Riddel Hall, Stranmillis Road, Belfast. 

 

At the meeting Chair of BMA UK Council Dr Tom Dolphin will talk about the BMA’s role as a trade union, our new strategy to support members and how we – and you – are making an impact for doctors in their workplaces.

 

Dr Tom Dolphin was elected chair of BMA UK Council in June 2025. He is a consultant anaesthetist in London, is a former chair of the BMA Junior (Resident) Doctors Committee and has track record of BMA representation at local and national level. He is focused on the embedding of the union in the workplace and advocates for the expansion of the knowledge and skills of workplace representative members to enable this to happen. 

 

The BMA President, Dr John Chisholm, will also be joining us at this meeting.
